our lounge!!

while I have been busy in london sipping champagne tim and his dad tony have been hard at work!! They have got rid of all the blocks along the edge of our lounge and that lovely bar of ours! It looks so much bigger and lighter now but needs a lot of work preparing the walls for decorating. It may take us a while in the evenings and weekends but will look fab, is so good the hard bit is done. They also filled an entire skip and emptied the garage. such hard working boys.

Seonaid's hen party!

So this weekend I went down to london for Seonaid's hen party. It was fun and I got to catch up with all my sisters friends and Seonaid's cousin Anna. We drank lots of bubbly, had high tea and a meal in our hotel which was interesting! I think Seonaid had a lovely time and I hope she had fun at the club, I'm sure ant will fill me in when she has spoken to her. I was a bit tired and had to get up really early today to get my train back so I didn't join them clubbing.

I'm really looking forward to the wedding now which is in a few weeks time!

helping me wash up!!

Ok so Oscar has taken to chewing my washing up gloves... they are such little dogs! They chew everything!! Below is th left overs of my gloves, they are still chewing them now. Madness!!!
My kittens are now starting to look like right little cats, they are more grown up looking but so so so cute still. Below is Oscar with Einstein's tiny paw hanging down ready to catch him.

Mum wanted more photos so here they are!
This week is going ok, apart from I have the start of a cold. I am hoping if I dose myself up on lemsip I will struggle through till the weekend, although I have a hen party this weekend so am hoping I feel better for then. I am really looking forward to it! Parents at my new school are still driving me barmy, it's like I have to justify that I am a good enough teacher for their children even though I have trained for four years and taught for another four!!! crazy!!!

I am slightly worried about tim being in charge of my kittens this weekend. I hope he looks after them well. We had a bit of a traumer today when he accidentally let Oscar in the bathroom and he fell downt he loo!!!! Tim had to dive in to get him out then I spent ages cleaning him and drying him with a big yellow towel... he is fine but does not give me much faith in timothy....!! I hope Judith (tim's mum) is reading this and makes sure he looks after them this weekend. He is really excited as his mum and dad are coming up to help with our lounge. I wish I could be there too to help but I'm in london. I will let you know how they get on, fingers crossed the kittens will be in one piece on sunday when I get back!

well better scoot, mum I hope the photos are ok!?

big hugs, gemma x

Another finished room!!!

Morning! So I didn't go down to Oxford in the end today for my 2nd wedding dress fitting - I didn't sleep a wink last night - not a wink!!!!! I am shattered today and thought that it wouldn't really be sensible to drive for 5 hours today (2 and half down and 2 and half back up!). I just hope I sleep ok tonight or it is going ot wipe me out this week at school.

Today I have cleaned, tidied and finally finished our third bedroom!!! This is going to be the nursery if Tim and I ever do have children!!! (don't tell him I said that, it may scare him, he he he)
It looks amazing, and Tim's parents are coming up next weekend to help us do our big lounge. With their help we may very well be in our big lounge by the end of April!!!!!! wohooo!!!!!! I love our snug we are using as a lounge but will be nice to have a little bit more space to spread out, then we will start saving for carpet, that will make such a HUGE difference to the feel of our house.

Best scoot, lots of planning to do!

The kittens have finally discovered how cosy our bed is!!!

HI,

so this week has been a MAD one!!

First the earthquake... how scary was that? Tim and I both woke up exactly the same time to our walls shaking, bed wobbling thinking what on earth is going on...!! Tim thought at first it was just our house colapsing, I was so scared after it had happened that I switched on the lights and peeked out the window - luckily there were other scared ladies peeking out their windows too so we knew it wasn't just us. I insited on going on the internet to look at breaking news but nothing came up straight away, I got tired after waiting for 10 mins and tim wanted to go back to sleep so we didn't find out till the morning that it was definitely an earthquake. I thought it could have been a bomb or plane crashing on my road, I was so scared!!!!!!!

Then I had the week from hell at school... not happy but won't go into details here. Let's just say not sure I like the children or parents at my school which isn't such a good thing!! At least most of the staff are lovely so it makes up for the crapness of everything else. I'm trying to persuade tim that I would make a good house wife, cooking his meals every night, cleaning, getting a cold beer poured and ready as he walks through the door... etc etc... he's not buying it!

Then Friday Tim had his phd viva and PASSED!!! I knew he would but it was still very stressful for him and he has been working so hard revising and stuff - I am very proud of him! He is celebrating tonight with all his old hockey boys. It is a big reunion down in Leam and they have a big tournament tomorrow, the theme is the circus, so they are dressing up as a circus tent - half of them are wearing red boiler suits and the other half blue, then they will dance around like a tent - BOYS!!! I hope he has a fab time, he deserves it!

I am staying at home tonight with a chinese take away watching girly movies, LOVE IT!!!! As it's my birthday today tim spoilt me this morning with pressies and taking me shopping in Derby, we also went for a lovely lunch. I have some champagne ready for us to have one day next week. I am now munching away on my prawn crackers, drinking cider, watching Ant and Dec's saturday night take away!! Am feeling very relaxed after my stressful week...!

And one more exciting thing, I am going for my second wedding dress fitting tomorrow, very excited but nervous in case I don't love it anymore - sure I will, every time I have tried it on I have fallen in love with it all over again. Well better scoot and go enjoy more of my cider! chat soon, gemma x

so we have had a busy weekend already! So far today tim have been sorting the huge pile of stuff in the garden by burning it in our new incinerator, although by the end it looked more of a large bonfire rather than a contained fire...! the garden has now got so much more space as all the stuff tim's parents chopped down is gone! it's fab!
And I have been preparing and painting the first coat of paint in our pink and purple stripy room. It is really starting to look nice, it needs another coat and I need to sand then paint the ceiling and skirting boards. It really will look fab when it is finished.

Tim has been doing the loft hatchm making it smaller so we can do the bathroom. Tim is going to build a new stud wall and we aremaking our loo and bathroom into one bigger room. It is going to look great when it is finished. So much is happening in our house at the moment I can't keep up, I think it will really start coming together soon, the best bit of all will be finally putting in carpet but I think we are a long way off that yet.
Half term has been great. I saw my guernsey girls last weekend, then spent the week doing planning and decorating the hallway. Then helen came to visit and we went bridesmaid shoe shopping and she got to see my house and meet the kittens. Then yesterday I went down to Leamington to visit my old school friends which was lovely, and I also had my hair cut!

Here is our garden now! How much wider does it look with all the brambles and stuff cleared!?!

well, I am having tonight off then tomorrow it is work, work, work again getting ready for monday! I did some planning this week but not half as much as I should have. So will have to really knuckle down tomorrow...!

chat soon, Gemma x

Guernsey Girly weekend!

Above is kath, Katie, Hannah and me in our gross pink dining room, I had them all to visit this weekend to show them my house, meet the kittens and to catch up on all our news! It was so lovely to see them and we had a fab time exploring my area a bit more. We spent last night drinking cocktails, watching girly movies, eating chinese take away and playing articulate! Good fun!!
Below kath and hannah on one of our walks, was such a sunny gorgeous weekend!

Below is one of the many houses in Derbyshire I want! Smack bang in the middle of the country side!!

Below is Carsington Water, it's only 20mins drive from our house and is so beautiful.

Me and einstein
Hannah and einstein, he is such a ladies man!!!

My cocktail fountain I got for my leaving present when I left Milverton, it was so much fun although the malibu, vodka, gin, blue curaco (or however you spell it) mixed with cranberry, pineapple and orange juice did make it a muddy greeny brown colour... tasted fab!
It lights up too!!!
we practised with water first, looks more appealing than my snot green concoction but wouldn't have been as tasty!

Katie and Tracey, I miss them soooooooooo much.....
Below are my babies on thier climber thing, they now sleep at the top together!

Katie's little girl Pheobie, she was so well behaved at our hosue seeing we sat and chatted for four hours or so, she amused herself with the boys.

I had my lovely old school friends visiting this weekend, we had a lovely saturday full of gossiping and chatting about my new school and Milverton. Not sure now the perfect school ever exists, Katie and Tracey are still having same old issues back there and I have different ones with my new school. I guess it's all experience!! I suggested we set up our own perfect school just the three of us, oh and my friends Laura and Fi can join in too of course!!! what a giggle that would be...

Tim and I also took our kittens outside for the first time ever! Was scary, didn't take any photos as I was too busy being an overprotective mother and panicking about them going over the fence!

here are my photos!

spending money... oops!

Ok so our beautiful kittens were growing out of thier kittn scratcher because they kept jumping on it and it would fall on them. So I went out and bought a huge cat tower thing! Look how tall it is compared to their old one... so naughty spending that much money on cats but hey! They love it! Because they are siamese=y we are hoping they will climb this rather than our curtains.
Einstein on the left and Oscar on the right, looking very handsome!
So I have had the best week at school so far. It is going really well and am feeling like part of the team now. Everyone is lovely and I like my class even if there are a few interesting characters!
Looking forward to the weekend and seeing my friends Katie and Tracey from my old school. Will be good to have a gossip and find out what's been happening at Milverton! They will also get to see my house too and the kittens of course!

bye, gemma x

HONEYMOONS!!!!!!!

I am so excited, Tim and I booked our honeymoon yesterday. We are going to Croatia for a week from the Wednesday after the wedding. That means we have a few days after the wedding to do fun stuff in guernsey with any friends or family over there still! We are thinking of going to herm for the day after the wedding for a realxing day of playing in the sea and chilling out on Belvoir bay, if the weather is ok that is!!!

So we are flying to Dubrovnik and staying in a hotel 20 mins bus ride from the city. We are going to chill out at the hotel lots, it has a lovely bar and restaurant, a secluded beach 5 mins walk from the hotel and boat trips to nearby islands. We may hire a car one day and go into the mountains too!

It is so nice to now have a holiday booked to look forward to after the wedding, I don't want to get so excited about the wedding day and it be over and done with really quickly then feel sad, now we have a romantic honeymoon to look forward to afterwards it makes the whole thing last so much longer!!!!

So it is now Friday and I have that lovely Friday feeling where I can drink wine, relax and not wake up early in the morning. I also have an exciting day tomorrow as I am going to have my first wedding dress fitting. I wish my Mum could be there with me but it is so tricky with her being in Guernsey. Never mind, I am going to book to go over in May to do lots of fun wedding things then!

I had better scoot now, just wanted to share our exciting news xxxx
