Here are some photos of our new bedroom! We have spent the whole day making a new wardrobe (tim) and bedside tables (me) since our new carpet arrived yesterday!!! It looks AMAZING! Our spare bedroom (which is the one we have been living in since last October) now looks amazing too as we have moved around the furniture and put some paintings up (some of my degree still life nudes!)

We are so pleased with it, we have also finally got a full length mirror and a TV in our bedroom!!! We haven't had that since I left uni 4 years ago.

I thought I would show you our lounge again, as it is looking so homely and cosy, we love relaxing in it...
Tim has been so busy this weekend, he has also done the garden. I helped too but tim really did most of it, we have finally cleared the right hand side of it and have sewn lots of grass seed which hopefully will grow and make an even bigger lawn!
My job was helping Tim bag up some pebbles that covered one part of the garden, and I also chopped down and cleared all the brambles/weeds that were growing all along the side fence. It is starting to look more like a real garden than a 'natural garden'!

Well I had better scoot, tim deserves a large glass of beer and for me to cook him something delicious, he really did an amazing job on the huge wardrobe too, I have been moaning for months about how there isn't enough space for my clothes and storage space for towels, now we have loads!

Chat soon, big hugs from a very happy, relaxed and excited (about sleeping in her new bedroom) Mrs Smith!

Hi, these are some of my friend Katie's photos that I have cropped and the one above I turned balck and white! I can't wait to get some of our favourites printed out to put in frames! I have some perfect places to put them on our walls and on our new cupboard at the bottom of the stairs!!!
We have put some of mum's artwork on our walls - if I can possibly order some more, I have a large landscape shaped spot above our TV we would like another orangy/yellow mexican inspired piece please...!!!!

Below is our new bedroom wall colour, it is a feature wall as we have left the other walls ivory lace still. It looks fab! Just waiting for carpet to arrive tomorrow... YEY!
Mum this one is for you - it is my new coat - do you like????
well better scoot, am cooking my gorgeous husband his dinner - a delicious chicken, bacon, mozerella red pesto dish with asparagus and mange tout! YUM! My husband is busy sawing floor boards as we have just discovered a broken one in the bedroom that needs fixing before tomorrow when our carpets arrive.

Chat soon, big hugs, gemma xxxxx

We have had a really busy bank holiday weekend! I have painted our bedroom with a feature wall in a colour called sunbaked terracotta - I will put a photo up once we have carpet and paintings on the wall, but is looking good!

Tim has been busy in our garden doing all sorts of exciting things, above is a photo of what's going to be our new vegetable patch! And below is a photo of the wall tim has fixed. the people before us must have tried to make a BBQ in the wall but obviously couldn't be bothered to finish it, so we have filled it in (well tim has... not really 'we'!) and are going to make a lovely herb garden infront of our kitchen!
Here is the patch Sam dug when he was here in Derbyshire, and tim sorted the area behind which is going to be our greenhouse!!!! We bought one today!!!!!
Here is a photo I took last night, if you enlarge it you can see how fat and swollen Einstien's face is compared to Oscar's, his is usually a little biggger than Oscars but certainly not like that, and this was taken after the swelling started going down!!! It is perfectly normal again now... not sure what on earth it was - am keeping a close eye on him!
Here it is again, looked far bigger close up but is so hard to get a good photo with such wiggly cats!

Well I am shattered, going to go watch a movie with my husband!
night...

Do you like our new cupboard at the bottom of the stairs? It looks amazing, and is some more much needed storage space. Below is mum and sam, they stayed to look after the cats during our honeymoon and we went out for dinner the night after we got back before they went home.
Below is Oscar loving mum, the cats loved mum and sam and gave them lots of cuddles... not sure mum and sam felt exactly the same way about them...
Our lovely new curtains, our friend Hannah gave them to us aren't they beautiful!?
Below will only mean something to Mum... I tried to recreate the wedding card Jenny and all the other Greenings gave to us... what do you think? maybe you could print it out and go show Auntie cathy???
Below is Oscar and Einstien trying to help me hang out the washing... they are being very cute except Einstien is currently having to be kept inside as he has some kind of swelling under his chin... blooin cats... they do save these traumers for bank holiday weekends... have phoned the emergency vet but nothing they can do unless he showing signs of being unwell, he is eating and drinking ok and seems quite happy, it doesn't hurt him to touch his chin and he is alert still. I hop eit goes away, maybe it is a bee sting or something, if it still there on tuesday i will have to take him to the vet or if it gets worse pay a fortune for the emergency one... I hope it goes away...! CATS!!! RAGH!!! who would ever have them...?
well better scoot, I am keeping a close eye on my baby...

off to check his chin...

Our wonderful Croatian Honeymoon!

Tim and I had the most romantic and relaxing honeymoon, it was perfect! We were so so tired the Tuesday after the wedding when we travelled over night back to our house in Derbyshire, then Mum and Sam arrived the next day to cat sit. We then scooted off to rainy manchester airport and arrived in Croatia to 30 degrees and bright blue skies! We spent the whole time exploring Dubrovnik and nearby islands, relaxing reading our books in the sun, swimming in the refreshingly clear blue adriatic sea and eating lots of delicious food and drinking yummy cocktails and wine!!! Heavenly!!!!
Our hotel was PERFECT, no screaming children so was a very quiet resort, two large swimming pools that were almost always empty, a pool side cocktail bar and a large air conditioned room. We really couldn't have asked for more.
Above shows some of the stunning coastal scenery, this was on a perfectly calm and 30 degrees warm day, but yet the sea had a huge swell on it and created stunning waves along the rocky shore.
Below, me enjoying one of the many pina coladas we had over the honeymoon...
We walked the city walls in the old Dubrovnik town, was so hot to be walking with no shade but so worth it for the beautiful views of the town.
below is looking down on the harbour in the old town. I have SO many more photos but they take so long to download on my blog I only chose a few.
Me in one of the pools
Tim in Dubrovnik old town, was quite similar to St Malo with all the old skiny streets. There were loads of gorgeous restaurants too where we had mussels bouzzara - delicious moules frites in a white wine and tomato type sauce, yum!
Our hotel restaurant was part of our honeymoon package so we ate there every night, was amazing! So much food, buffet style so all you can eat with ice cold wine... bliss!
Me overlooking the coast right next to our hotel
This was the beach we swam off every day right next to our hotel, Croatian coastline is all rocky, no white sandy beaches like guernsey so was quite a challenge getting in and out of the water, but well worth it as the water was really quite warm and so clear you could sea the ocean floor even when you were metres out of your depth!
Our sunset on our last night in Croatia... I miss it already!

I have however had a fab day cleaning and tidying our house, we have changed out curtains in our living room as my friend Hannah gave us some beautiful red/orangy coloured ones which match our feature wall perfectly. All we need now is a black leather sofa set so we can seat more than two people in our lounge!

Our plan for this Autumn is to start DIY-ing again as that came to a bit of a stand still since we had our carpet fitted. We are going to get our bedrooms carpetted, put together the furniture we have got from ikea, finish the bathroom and start preparing the kitchen and dining room ready to redecorate!
Best scoot, chat soon, gemma xxxx
