Kate with Gav's baby, not sure what the name is as he has twins and I can't tell the difference!!

Kate and Mark's wedding was stunning. It was very elegant and incredibly romantic. Everything went smoothly and once again has given me and Tim loads more ideas for our wedding! It was also good to see a lot of the welsh boys we used to hang out with in our first year at uni (which is how Kate and Mark met).
Anyway, I am hungover now and so tired. We danced so much last night which was fab but am suffering now, I got trodden on in a spin and now my foot hurts!!

Well enjoy the photos, there are more on my facebook pages. Mum I will send them all to you when I have more time but for now enjoy these...

Hi everyone,

OH MY GOD what a day!!!! It has just been crazy. And not because of work this time just because of me and my bad luck!!!
You may well all laugh at my story to come but to me it was quite traumatic.... just remember that before teasing me about this...

Ok so... I have been feeling a bit down recently about lack of motivation to diet and general hormones. So I thought I would cheer myself up with a hair cut and a fake tan. I have Kate's wedding this weekend so thought it may make myself feel better about myself...
So, let's start with hair cut. (see photo)

I asked to keep the length... I shall say no more.

Then my tan... So I turned up, after having sunshine in Leam all day, in a vest top and left my umbrella in the car. Had my tan and it looked fab! Then left the building and as I did the heavens opened and RAINED ALL OVER MY TAN!!!! So ended up looking like a f***ing spotty dog! Traffic was horrendous so was swearing the whole way home wandering how long it takes for tan to soak in.... got home EVENTUALLY and phoned the tan place to ask if I could just rub it in? They said no and to wash it off straight away or it would streak. So I got in the shower and scrubbed with my special exfoliating gloves... I now have perfectly soft, smooth skin, lovely short hair and am £20 broker (not sure broker is a word but I don't care anymore to be honest).

I would have cried but I just thought maybe rain was a sign from someone 'up there' as a gift because maybe my tan would have looked awful...

Lesson learnt:

Never tan or try tanning again (always disasterous on me...)
Be patient and let my hair grow - even through the awful hair days time
Be happy in my own skin, pale and interesting!

Well there you have it, I am sure everyone at work will find my story hilarious... I don't yet but am sure I will in time! Off out to dinner with my gorgeous fiance now as I need a large glass of wine and he deserves a treat for putting up with me!!!

Hugs, gemma xxxxxx
P.S Here is my outfit for Kate's wedding, hopefully will look even better when I do my hair and make up really nice? Also I have my green top that I showed you in previous blogs that I may wear... not really definitely decided yet... decisions decisions!

The three of us in Reflex, in Nottingham on Fi's Hen do!!! Laura and Fi
Me and Fi
Fi and her special straw!!!
Hi all, we had a fab weekend. Tim went on Adam's stag do (clay pigeon shooting, go-karting and drinking) and I went to Fi's hen party (theatre, salsa dancing and drinking). It was good fun and great to spend the weekend with Laura too! I wish we still worked together, I miss them so much!! We had such a giggle!!!
The salsa was so much fun, it is a really sexy kind of dance. I must practise with Tim!! We did try it at uni once when we were quite tipsy and he did actually enjoy it.
Fiona did however get quite ill and was feeling incredibly poorly on Sunday morning, I tried to get her to drink fanta and eat a few hoola hoops (a well known Guernsey hangover cure - well within Barclays in Guernsey anyway...) but it didn't help her... she was beyond help I think... oh dear!
Well no more gossip from me, work going really well now reports are done and SATS finished. I think it will be a nice run up to the end of term now. Can't wait for the summer hols!!!!
Huge hugs to you all, gemma xxxx

Lian just sent me this email and I thought it was quite funny! I giggled and agreed with majority of the below! And Tim was reading it and asked what does 'Le prev-ot' mean (saying it phonetically!) DUH!!!!

Anyway enjoy Mum and Ant (and any one else reading this!!!)

You know you're from Guernsey if...

You remember when the YESS shops used to be Guernsey Press shops, Checkers Express used to be Stampers, RBSI used to be the Royal Hotel and Admiral Park wasn't even a twinkle in an architect’s eye...

You become to slightly dread the question, 'Where are you from originally then?’ when at uni, as you have to then reply, 'Guernsey, it's halfway between England and France, yes it's near Jersey, no, Guernsey is better, no I don't speak French, yes we do have electricity/traffic lights/cars' in one breath and then deal with the inevitable blank looks/piss taking

You have been known to refer to England as 'the mainland'

You totally slag off the Guernsey Press...but still read it to see if you know anyone in it

The Muratti, the Siam Cup and the Island Games are all important sporting dates You remember when Barbados was The Monkey, Buddha Bar was Bambou, Toast was Baloo’s, Rogues was 54, Claddagh was the WKD Bar and you totally can't keep up with whether they're calling it the Bankers or the White Hart this week.

If you're older, then you remember number 10, Nix and the Cozy (now Albion)

You went to under 18s nights at 54, the Monkey and Peaches You know that North Beach is not a beach, the States has nothing to do with America, the Bridge isn't actually a bridge at all and the Cup and Saucer has nothing to do with crockery

You roll your eyes at English people's pronunciation of Le Prevost, Castel, Mahy, L'Islet, Moulin Huet and all other Guernsey names

You shorten Valle des Terres to Valdies, the Rockmount to the Rocky, the Vazon Bay to the VB and Beau Sejour to Beausie...and are unsure on exactly what the States overspent about a billion pounds on when building the new Beausie

When talking about people, you have heard your parents describe someone as, 'the girl Le Lacheur' or 'the boy Falla' and are resigned to the fact that whoever you go out with, your parents and/or your friends will somehow know your boyfriend's parent's best friend's neighbour's dog, or similar tenuous link

You learnt to drive in the Alliance car park

You regularly say, 'eh', 'is it' and 'cheerie' You know what 'a la perchoine' and 'sarnia cherie' mean

Your summer revolves around Cobo/Vazon/the Rockmount and the highlight is Liberation Day and the Vale Earth Fair

You used to hang around Port Soif/Grandes Rocques/Vazon car parks and beaches from the ages of about 13 to 16 and remember the (actually very good) beach parties at Pembroke

You are very smug about how Guernsey is a tax haven (despite the fact that it costs roughly the same amount of money to buy a shed in Guernsey as it would to buy a four bedroom house in England)

During the summer, you get serious road rage at the tourist's hire cars who just don't know how to use filters or any traffic jam lasting over 10 minutes

You roll your eyes/rant every time Howard Holland and/or Tom Scott are mentioned in conversation

You have been rock/cliff jumping and cow tipping

You know why it is a good idea to avoid the sea front and coast at high tides (seaweed all over your windscreen, anyone?)

You watch 'Spotlight' and 'Channel Report'

You can (and regularly have to) reverse about 3 miles up a lane in St Andrews/Torteval/St Peters to reach a passing place

You have no recollection of ever seeing more than about half an inch of snow but get insanely excited every time someone says, 'ooh might stick this time'

You refer to people from Jersey as 'crapauds'...and know what it means (toads, in case anyone doesn't)

You have taken part, or know some nutter who has, in the Christmas Day swim

You can always recognise any Guernsey car in England because of the absence of letters on the number plate

You find it totally normal that you have to take a plane or boat to England

You have been to Herm, Sark, Jersey or even France for lunch, if you have/know someone with a boat

You find it bizarre that the pubs in England close at 11pm, instead of 12:45am

You bought alcohol from Candie Cache and/or Collings Road shopper when you were 14, as they would serve anyone.

You can slag off living in Guernsey as much as you want but if anyone not from Guernsey tries to, you act as though they have just mortally insulted your family.

Me in Stratford, do you like my new top? I went a bit crazy in the House of Fraiser sale and bought 5 new tops!! Me and Tim infront of the sausage bap barge, we treated ourselves to one followed by an ice-cream. The problem is I am a dunce and dropped a sausage covered in ketchup on my new white linen trousers.
One of the many beautiful views over the river, it really was a stunning day!
Hi,

I am feeling pooey right now as my family cat, marmalade, died today... I am so incredibly sad. I know he was just a pet cat but he really was part of our family. When I was growing up, going through puberty and falling in and out of love, being dumped by mean boys etc etc marmalade was always there for me and cuddled me and listened to me moan... it's so silly really but he was my little boy... anyway, he was very old and he died peacefully and he really did have an amazing life for a cat living in guernsey. It is just sad to not have him about when we go back this summer. I will miss him sooooooo much...

Anyway,

Diet sucks. I have eaten a huge ginormous bar of kinder chocolate so cheer myself up but it has just made me feel worse and fat... oh well. Diet starts again tomorrow.

Back to school tomorrow too which sucks when I feel this sad. Although all my wonderful kiddies will definitely cheer me up when they tell me their tales of their holidays! Work has gone ok. I am all ready and have even finished my reports. I would 'big it up more' but I feel too depressed to do so today...

Well Tim and I have had a nice weekend (before finding out about Marma) we went to Stratford yesterday in the sunshine and went for drinks and dinner friday night and last night... so naughty but soooo nice to treat ourselves sometimes!

Better go now and be depressed infront of Big Brother. I need more chocolate...

Hugs, gemma x

Dave and Tim at the pub
Hi,

Where did this week go? It is now Friday and I have only just got myself into the work mood. I am now almost exactly half way through my reports!!! I am going to keep going this afternoon and try to get them finished... I think if I really really put my mind to it and stop blogging I can get it done...

Before I go I just want to say we went out with our best man last night (hi dave!) and it was good fun to see him. We went to a pub near his home and gossiped all night, plus we got back to his house in time to watch the repeat of Big Brother! I am loving it already (even though I though it would be crap with all girls)... I think Laura is my favourite and the older one with crazy curly grey hair from london. There is no-one there yet who I can't stand but there is plenty more time (13 weeks I think!) for them to annoy me!

Well no more gossip from me, I am in a dreamy wedding mood still and can't wait to be able to sort more wedding stuff out this summer! Only 7 weeks till bridesmaid dress shopping! YEY!!

Better scoot to keep going with reports, Gemma xxxx
