Our wonderful Croatian Honeymoon!

Tim and I had the most romantic and relaxing honeymoon, it was perfect! We were so so tired the Tuesday after the wedding when we travelled over night back to our house in Derbyshire, then Mum and Sam arrived the next day to cat sit. We then scooted off to rainy manchester airport and arrived in Croatia to 30 degrees and bright blue skies! We spent the whole time exploring Dubrovnik and nearby islands, relaxing reading our books in the sun, swimming in the refreshingly clear blue adriatic sea and eating lots of delicious food and drinking yummy cocktails and wine!!! Heavenly!!!!
Our hotel was PERFECT, no screaming children so was a very quiet resort, two large swimming pools that were almost always empty, a pool side cocktail bar and a large air conditioned room. We really couldn't have asked for more.
Above shows some of the stunning coastal scenery, this was on a perfectly calm and 30 degrees warm day, but yet the sea had a huge swell on it and created stunning waves along the rocky shore.
Below, me enjoying one of the many pina coladas we had over the honeymoon...
We walked the city walls in the old Dubrovnik town, was so hot to be walking with no shade but so worth it for the beautiful views of the town.
below is looking down on the harbour in the old town. I have SO many more photos but they take so long to download on my blog I only chose a few.
Me in one of the pools
Tim in Dubrovnik old town, was quite similar to St Malo with all the old skiny streets. There were loads of gorgeous restaurants too where we had mussels bouzzara - delicious moules frites in a white wine and tomato type sauce, yum!
Our hotel restaurant was part of our honeymoon package so we ate there every night, was amazing! So much food, buffet style so all you can eat with ice cold wine... bliss!
Me overlooking the coast right next to our hotel
This was the beach we swam off every day right next to our hotel, Croatian coastline is all rocky, no white sandy beaches like guernsey so was quite a challenge getting in and out of the water, but well worth it as the water was really quite warm and so clear you could sea the ocean floor even when you were metres out of your depth!
Our sunset on our last night in Croatia... I miss it already!

I have however had a fab day cleaning and tidying our house, we have changed out curtains in our living room as my friend Hannah gave us some beautiful red/orangy coloured ones which match our feature wall perfectly. All we need now is a black leather sofa set so we can seat more than two people in our lounge!

Our plan for this Autumn is to start DIY-ing again as that came to a bit of a stand still since we had our carpet fitted. We are going to get our bedrooms carpetted, put together the furniture we have got from ikea, finish the bathroom and start preparing the kitchen and dining room ready to redecorate!
Best scoot, chat soon, gemma xxxx
