Do you like Rosie's 'Hungry Caterpillar' blanket? Granny Sue made it for her! We think it's amazing, I am so lucky to have such a talented Mum who is going to spoil Rosie rotton!!! :-)
Rosie is wearing her pretty French outfit from Mum and Sam too, do you like?
She is a little trooper as she now weighs 7lbs 5oz!! Totally caught up to the average line on her growth chart. I have a feeling she will be following in her dad's footsteps by being a fatty as a baby!!
How cute??!!She is starting o become more and more aware during the day, her eyes are really focusing now, we are reading her some of her new books she has had as pressies. She likes bright colours and pigs we have discovered!
Look at her tiny hands!
Granny Sue and Rosie, they got lots of cuddles this week between feeding and sleeping. Tim and I are very grateful to her for cooking, cleaning and shopping for us this week, now I have to cope on my own during the day so may be leaving quite a few jobs for Tim!!!!
Daddy giving Rosie a bottle of expressed milk, she has tried it a few times now at her 10pm feed, sometimes she has taken it really well and other times she has refused it and got herself into a bit of a tizzy... hopefully if we perservere it will really help me to get some rest if tim can do one feed in the evening, and will help if ever we want to go out for an evening in the distant future! (at the moment I can't EVER imagine leaving her, she is just too precious!!!!)
well I am off to have a lavender bath as my scar is going a bit scanky... lavender is meant to help??? who knows!

How cute is Rosie when she yawns????
In fact how cute is she full stop.
Below is Rosie with her Great Granny Jean
Rosie soundo on Granny Sue
And sleeping on Granny/Grandma Judith (not sure what Judith and Tony want to be called yet???)
Looking rather chinny chin chin in her moses basket, spot the muslin cloth I dyed pink along with Tim's work shirts... oops!!!
Oscar and Einstein looking not quite sure of Rosie! Or just jealous that she is in the 'pretty cat basket'...
We had a lovely day on Sunday in our garden, it was very relaxing once I had calmed down worrying whether Rosie was too hot or too cold!
Here is a photo Tony took last week, isn's she beautiful!
Well off to feed Rosie now, the little monster has a rather large monster appetite!!!
BYE xxx
p.s. my poor Tim is back at work now, it's so not fair that paternity leave isn't longer :-(

Rosie has decided she loves her mobile, she really was focusing on it this morning. Although she did get bored after about 2 minutes then just wanted food! I think she may take after her Mummy with her love of eating... oh dear!
Below is Daddy being yet again Super Dad and putting together her new toy from her Great Grandad Ron and Jean. It is from the early Learning Centre and can be used from birth upwards, it turns into a sit up toy. You can see the photos of what it turns into at this website address... http://www.elc.co.uk/toy/blossom-farm-sit-me-up-cosy/
I was trying to get her interested in the sheep but she was't having any of it, she did seem to like how cosy it was though... soon enough she wil be grabbing the little animals I am sure...
I just took this after her feed, how content is that little face?
We have been spoilt rotton with cards, we have hundreds, and we received some beautiful flowers from Tim's work, they had roses just fro Rosie!
Also we have some news,
We finally decided on a middle name for our daughter, so introducing....
Rosie Charlotte Smith
Beautiful name or what?
Chat soon, Gemma xxx
p.s. we had another fab nights sleep, she really is a good girl at the moment... maybe she is saving her tantrums till she is a terrible two? ! ?

Morning!
Tim, Rosie and I have had a lovely nights sleep (after a not so good nights sleep the night before!), she settled really well and so did tim and I!
She is now listening to her mozart CD and sleeping in her moses basket in our bedroom.
So far this morning Tim has popped into work to get some stuff he needs and dropped off some important letters at the Drs we were given by the hospital. I have showered, dressed, eaten breakfast, cleared the washing away, tidied my hospital bag, cleared out two new drawers for all of Rosie's new clothes people have given us as gifts, fed and changed Rosie! How organised am I? Call us Super Mum and Super Dad!!!
I am doing it all nice and slowly, little bits at a time so not to over exert myself. Now my scar and tummy is starting to feel better it is hard to remember not to overdo it. I can't believe they say I am not allowed to drive or lift things for 6 weeks, that sounds like an awfully long time!
Below is a photo of me this morning, my tummy is starting to shrink back down and my belly button is now an inny again!
here is Rosie in her room, can you spot her Peter Rabbit Granny?
Last night the boys were in their element, we let them in with us and they loved it. They are not bothered by Rosie at all, even if she cries, they just want her basket to sleep in so we have to keep a watchful eye over them at all times. At the moment they are shut in the kitchen as it would be too hard for me to manage on my own. When tim is here it is easier. I am sure they will get used to it more and more.
They decided they like my breast feeding chair as it is full of cushions for them... cheeky things!
Well I had better scoot, I am going to start writing in my baby book for Rosie when she grows up. Chat again soon, Gemma xxxxx

Introducing Baby Rosie!
So what a madly exhausting and stressful week yet amazing and wonderful all at the same time.
Our baby daughter was born last Friday 8th May after I hadn't felt any movements, so went into hospital to check it out. An hour later they had delivered her by emergency c-section, I won't go into details as it was rather scary and not a nice experience, thank God tim could get to the hospital in time with only minutes to spare. Basically she had been bleeding into me so was loosing blood, she had a blood transfusion straight away after birth and had lots of tests done whilst they were trying to find out what had happened. I didn't get to see her properly till 11pm that night and she was born at 1.35pm, needless to say there were a lot of tears on my part after the birth (I didn't have time to worry or cry before hand, I think I was in shock more than anything).
When we did get to see her we weren't allowed to hold her or take hr out her incubator, but tim changed her nappy and took her temperature and I could reach in to touch her hand as I was still in my wheel chair at that point. On the Saturday we were allowed to finally hold our little girl, it was very emotional and again I cried a lot on the saturday through worrying if she would be ok and from seeing her with all these tubes and wires. It was hard to hold her as I didn't want to hurt her or pull anything out. We were also trying to start breast feeding straight away and because she was premature she didn't really understand so got uite frustrated with me, luckily the staff in the neonatal ward and on the maternity ward were incredible. They got a breast feeding specialist to help us all week which has been amazing, and they gave me a private room all week so we didn't have to be surrounded by women and their babies.
Our first family portrait!
below is one of the blankets my mum has knitted, isn't it beautiful. Rosie loves it so much she has already sicked up on it!
She has beautiful soft hair, and is a auburn colour! Apparently when my dad grew a beard it was a ginger colour, and Tim's side burns have that auburn colour in them so maybe that's where the colour comes from, I hope it's curly when she grows up!!!!
Here she is on her way home, she was so brave as we left during the biggest thunderstorm I have ever seen! She slept the whole way.
And FINALLY after a traumatic week we have our baby daughter home. Isn't she perfect?
I think this is her first smile, some maysay it's too early and it is wind but I think she is smiling at her daddy!
How gorgeously precious is she? I just can't get enough of her, when she is asleep in her moses basket I just want to grab her in my arms. It is hard leaving her to sleep soundly!!! But I am being good, as we really want to keep her in this lovely routine the neonatal unit has got her into. She is feeding beautifully now every three hours and sleeps inbetween. We had a fab night last night and hopefully she will be able to stick to her routine as it is working wonderfully.
Well as you can imagine I am obsessed with taking photos of her so be prepared for the next 1000 entries of my blog to be photos of Rosie! I will also add a few of my boys, they are struggling with understanding what is going on. Einstien is so sensitive that he has even gone off his food, poor baby. Tim is now playing with him to try to calm him down. Oscar isn't as bothered although I think he is missing his morning cuddle in bed. We are trying to keep them out our bedroom from now on.
I had better scoot now and try to rest before Rosie's next feed.

Hello,
so I am thoroughly enjoying my maternity leave so far, I am feeling very relaxed and doing lots of lovely things like reflexology and meeting my antenatal class ladies for tea and cakes!
Above is a photo of my teaching assistants dog - I absolutely LOVE her! She looks like Santas Little Helper from the Simpsons. I asked Tim if I could get a puppy but he feels a baby may be enough work for now...!!! he he he!
Below are some of Tim's photos, he's been practising using his new camera his Dad gave him. I think he is rather talented as he makes my naughty boys look like little angels! Here is Einstein...
And here is Oscar!
And as usual here are my up to date bump photos, I am now almost 37 weeks!
Well no gossip from me, I am hosting our mum's to be tea and cake session next week although two of the ladies are due now so not sure who will be able to make it!!! It is a very exciting time for all of us. I am so pleased to have made some new friends with girls going through the same thing as me!
Big hugs and for those of you with blogs - keep updating! I love reading them!!!
